HFMD!

So..Sunday morning Greyson woke up with a temperature of 104.3! we panicked of course..Dr. said to give him Tylenol every four hours and keep an eye on him which of course we did, fever went down to about 102....he stopped eating and drinking around 5pm on Sunday, and his last wet diaper was at 7pm. Sunday night he screamed through the night still refusing to take a bottle.

We called the doctor first thing Monday morning she asked us to bring him in, she immediately noticed blisters on the back of his throat and explained that that's why he was not eating and drinking. This was also the reason that he was not passing any pee or poop. Dr. told us that Greyson has Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease!!!! and even worse, he was at risk for dehydration since he hadn't eaten or peed in over 12 hours. We left with the instructions to push fluids because if he didn't pee by the early afternoon they would admit him and administer an IV : (

We are now heavily pushing fluids which he is not happy about...everything from pedialite pops to juices, water, watermelon. He's had one wet diaper, it's been a struggle. I've switched to Motrin which seems to help a little.

This is a mean sickness...poor little guy is miserable!! He should see relief in a few more days...very scary, I hadn't even heard of this! I'll keep you all posted!!

...No more passing Greyson around at outings, and no touching Greyson's hands!! Ugh!!

Update: Greyson is doing better. He had 3 wet diapers today...2-4oz bottles and a little pasta. Still awaiting what is sure to be an explosive #2....
